ZYBAN (bupropion HCl) is indicated as a smoking cessation treatment in conjunction with behavioural modification; nicotine replacement therapy may be used in addition to bupropion.

The most common side effects of ZYBAN are dry mouth and insomnia. The side effects that may occur are usually mild and temporary. Patients with difficulty sleeping should be advised to take their medication a few hours earlier in the evening.

Zyban reduces the craving for smoking and so helps you to stop smoking. Its exact mechanism of action is not fully understood, but it is believed that it interacts with chemicals in the brain called noradrenaline and dopamine, which are associated with craving and withdrawal.
