Clobetasol is a topical (for the skin) steroid. It reduces the actions of chemicals in the body that cause inflammation, redness, and swelling.

Clobetasol is used to treat a variety of skin conditions (e.g., eczema, dermatitis, allergies, rash, psoriasis). Clobetasol reduces the swelling, itching, and redness that can occur in these types of conditions. This medication is a very strong (super-high-potency) corticosteroid.

Use Clobetasol on the skin only. Do not use it on the face, groin, or underarms unless directed to do so by your doctor.

Use Clobetasol only for the condition prescribed. Do not use it for longer than 2 weeks in a row or use more than 50 grams per week unless directed to do so by your doctor.

Clobetasol is sold as brand name Temovate, Clobex, Clobevate, Cormax.
