Bentyl (DICYCLOMINE) is used to relieve cramps or spasms of the stomach, intestines, and bladder. Bentyl (DICYCLOMINE) treats different bowel problems including irritable bowel syndrome. It is believed to be effective in reducing spasm of the bowel. Generic dicyclomine capsules and tablets are available.

Take Bentyl (dicyclomine) tablets or capsules by mouth. Follow the directions on the prescription label. Swallow the tablets or capsules with a drink of water. It is best to take Bentyl (dicyclomine) on an empty stomach, 30 minutes to 1 hour before meals. Take your medicine at regular intervals. Do not take your medicine more often than directed.
